The best of Filipino filmmaking took center stage at the Puregold CinePanalo 2026 Awards Night, held at Cinema 5 of Gateway Mall, celebrating the filmmakers, performers, and creatives behind this year’s entries.

The 2026 edition featured seven full-length films and 19 student short films, showcasing emerging and established talents across different aspects of filmmaking—from acting and directing to cinematography, editing, production design, musical scoring, and visual effects.

Among the night’s biggest winners was “Mono No Aware,” which emerged as the Pinakapanalong Pelikula (Best Film) in the Full-Length category. The film also received several major awards, including Panalong Direktor for BC Amparado, Panalong Aktor for Juan Karlos, Panalong Aktres for Momoko Kobayashi, Panalong Ensemble, Panalong International Jury, Cinematography, Editing, and Sound-related honors.

“Patay Gutom” also had a strong showing, taking home awards for Panalong Kwento, Visual Effects, and Film Poster, while “Apol of My Ai” earned recognition for Musical Scoring, with Zanjoe Marudo winning Pangalawang Aktor and child performer Zion Cruz receiving the Panalong Child Performer award.

In the Student Shorts category, “Limlim” emerged as the Pinakapanalong Maikling Pelikula, while also earning awards for Cinematography, with Zoey Madison Lim winning Child Performer, and Samantha Palaje sharing the Panalong Direktor honor.

“Kun Hain? Bisan Diin” (Anywhere and Everywhere) was another major student-category winner, earning awards for Editing, Story, and Production-related honors, with Jomarie Corro Reyes receiving the Panalong Direktor award. The film also received the Panalong Karangalan Mula sa mga Hurado for Student Shorts.

Other notable student winners included Nor Domingo of “12 Shots” for Pangalawang Aktor, Nour Hooshmand of “Starfish” for Pangalawang Aktres, Jay Gabriel Cañada of “The Sound of K” for Aktor, and Jonalyn Mateo of “Ang Huling Banlaw ni Susan” for Aktres.

The Audience Choice awards went to “Ang Huling Banlaw ni Susan” in the Student Shorts category and “Multwoh” in the Full-Length category. “Multwoh” also took home the Full-Length Production Design award.

Meanwhile, the Puregold Always Panalo awards recognized “Miss Intrams” and “Pulis Dunggab” in the Student Shorts category, while “Patay Gutom” and “Multwoh” were honored in the Full-Length category.

The festival also awarded the Panalong Maikling Pelikula Panorama Section prize, worth ₱100,000, to “The Other Side of Reality.”

With its diverse lineup of films and wide range of awards, Puregold CinePanalo 2026 once again highlighted the creativity and talent of Filipino filmmakers, from student filmmakers making their mark to established artists and production teams bringing full-length stories to the big screen.
